“Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited and the wealth and confusion man has created.”
~ Edward Steichen, American photographer
Lake Gilmer Sunset
Pictures have been an integral part of my life. Growing up in Waco, Texas I spent many happy hours in a friend’s library poring over old copies of National Geographic, Saturday Evening Post and Look. Mom gave me my first camera when I was eight. In the Air Force, I was fortunate enough to serve as a radio & tv specialist, learning to use film and video cameras. I bought my first single-lens-reflex camera at the base exchange in Wakkanai, Japan in 1967. I have never been without a camera since.
I have been fortunate to spend much of my career in and around the ad business, where bright people congregate to tell the stories of commercial enterprises. Photography, still and motion, has been and will be an integral part of those stories. I have worked with some of the finest commercial photographers and some of the best art directors in the business for decades. It would have been almost impossible not to have absorbed some of knowledge they’ve had to impart.
Since 2003 I have worked with my wife Andrea to list and market residential properties, farms, ranches and acreage in East Texas, one of my favorite parts of the world. Along with the architectural photography we have created portraits of our clients, and I have captured many images of the natural world that surrounds us here in the Piney Woods.
I hope that you find images here that you enjoy…I know I have enjoyed the creative process of making them.
